About Us
The Werthein Group has been associated with the agricultural industry for more than 85 years, having specialized in commercial livestock production and, especially, in breeding cattle with very favorable traits.
The Group has applied its genetic improvement program to the country's leading beef cattle breeds: Angus and Hereford in the pampas region and Brangus and Braford in the north.
Breeds
Our company is dedicated to the commercial production of high-quality cattle. Therefore, perfecting the Angus, Hereford, Brangus and Braford breeds is of great importance and is achieved by maintaining pure herds that are tightly controlled and registered in the official registries for each breed (Pedigree, Controlled Purebred / Registered / Advanced / Final).
Genetics
The selective objectives of our genetic improvement program include fertility, adaptability, growth potential and marbling potential. We have a computer program that evaluates the genotype of each individual and its ancestors as well as the individual's performance within contemporary groups. We also participate in the national genetic evaluation programs introduced by the associations for each breed: the Angus Breeders Evaluation (ERA), the Hereford Genetic Evaluation Program (PEG), the Brangus Breeders Evaluation (ErBra) and the Bradford Genetic Evaluation Program (PegBraf).
Auctions
For some time now, Cabaña La Paz has been bringing its annual production to market with its own auctions, such as the Gran Venta Selección (Grand Selection Sale) at the Rural Society in Cañuelas, Buenos Aires, in July, and the Gran Clásico de La Pampa (Grand Classic of La Pampa) at the Los Robles Farm in La Gloria, La Pampa, in September.
More than 1,500 people come to these events every year. Around 1,000 pedigree and controlled purebred black Angus, red Angus and Polled Hereford bulls and heifers are auctioned off to eager buyers.
In the northern part of the country, the superiority and quality of the Guasunchos brand is very well known. This is thanks to the careful selection of animals over time, which led to the development of hearty animals adapted to the tropical conditions, with high productivity and excellent marbling.
Since 2011, we have hosted the Cabaña Los Guasunchos Grand Annual Sale, an important event that attracts breeders and producers from every central and northern province. The red Brangus produced by Los Guasunchos is very well known and in high demand, as is the Braford, produced under strict controls.
We did not win Grand Champion titles at the National Brangus Expositions (in Resistencia in 2009 and 2011) and at the National Braford Exposition (in Corrientes in 2015) by chance. Behind those titles is a lot of hard work, effort and investment.
At Los Guasunchos, the doors are always open to welcome breeders interested in highly productive Brangus and Braford genetics. We work for the market, guaranteeing animal genetics that we have evaluated in our own commercial herds.
Farms
Cabaña La Paz in Fortín Acha, Vedia, Buenos Aires
Our pedigree Angus plants, which are the genetic heart of the La Paz program, are located in the heart of the Humid Pampa. Embryo Transfer is used intensively to multiply superior animals.
Est. Los Robles Farm, La Gloria, La Pampa
The semi-arid central pampa region, with extreme temperatures in summer and winter, is where the Angus and Hereford breeders are raised. At Los Robles we also have an elite stock of controlled pure black Angus.
Gloria a Dios Complex, Batavia, San Luis
Located in the country's central area, Gloria a Dios is a rugged grassland exposed to a harsh climate and habitually dry conditions. The herds of controlled purebred Angus and registered purebred Hereford heifers produce efficiently, guaranteeing the rusticity of origin that will ensure future adaptability.
Los Guasunchos Complex, Santa Margarita, Santa Fe
Los Guasunchos is located in northern Argentina, among hills, ticks and salty water. The Brangus and Braford herds endure very hostile conditions. The productive bulls and heifers bred here, with strong selective rigor, have given the genetic lines at Los Guasunchos a great reputation.
Est. Lillo Viejo Farm, Tintina, Santiago del Estero
A forest reserve in the hills of Santiago del Estero being developed for silvopastoral purposes.

Cabaña La Paz
The farms involved in breeding and producing British breeds include Fortín Acha (Vedia, Buenos Aires), Los Robles (La Gloria, La Pampa) and Gloria a Dios (Batavia, San Luis). Using modern animal-breeding technologies and breeding in natural but controlled environments, we have created a commercial product in high demand for its productive attributes and its ability to adapt to different conditions.
Everything starts with superior animal genetics, developed within the herd and enhanced with the best bloodlines available nationally and internationally. Using genotype information and productive parameters, as well as a rigorous selection process, enables us to put top-quality breeders on the market.
Our success can be measured not only by our popularity at the Rural Exposition in Palermo, the most prestigious in the country, but also by the high demand for our products.
Cabaña Los Guasunchos
Cattle ranching has been growing and expanding in the northern part of the country for several decades. Following this trend, the Werthein Group established Los Guasunchos in northern Santa Fe, near the border with Santiago del Estero and very close to the Chaco provincial limit.
Over time, the La Angélica, Leones and El Nueve farms were added, creating a complex combining agriculture (corn, sorghum, sunflowers, soybeans and cotton) with ranching (breeding, raising, wintering and feedlots).
Soil conservation efforts involved integrating all productive activities in a rational way, preserving the conditions of the severe natural environment.
